Project Managementality

I'm conteplating a possible future maybe position that I may or may not be offered but initially the job is mine if I want it, if it will at some point exist.

So I'm not trying to get myself nervous or to even get the least bit anxious about this proposed proposition for a position that may or may not even be created, let alone offered to me. But, I don't want to dismiss the aforementioned proposition if something does come to fruition. I, then, am feeling a bit, just a bit, excited, but I'm not going to start calling home about it jumping up and down. We're not there yet. The position does not exist currently, and may or may not exist in the future, time to be determined.

Anyway, I don't necessarily have good news or bad news to share with anyone about a possible position that may or may not be created that I may or may not be chosen for, but I suppose that it's the thought that counts, right?

I love working.

Trying to move forward

I'm posting yet again today.

I am trying to move forward and move past my anger with my sister. So I talked to her on the phone last night. The first time since end of May (when I visited home) that we talked and we had a nice conversation. Nothing was brought up to light any fires. I honestly don't know if she understands how mad I was at her. I had never been that angry, frustrated, hurt in my life by her. But I can type these words now without my blood pressure going up, my face getting red, and the keys on the keyboard getting pounded. I'm calmer, more collected. I realize that people aren't always who you think they are.

Things have sort of blew over, but I'm not ready to fully let go yet. Not for a while.

Mentalmine, I can't remember if I told you the whole story behind this. Email me if I didn't.

Pics from my sister. Nothing much else to say about that. Except, "Cheese!"

Memory almost full --in La la Land

Yes that first part of the title is the new Paul McCartney album, but it also applies to my small overloaded brain.

Ever have this awesome dream and you wake up and you're like "Wow. I should write that down. I'll write a book about it. It was so vivid." Then within 15 minutes of waking up you can't remember anything about it? That's been happening to me a lot lately. The other night I dreamed I was playing this really cool game at a party. I woke up and tried to remember it, and it was gone. Like someone sucked it out of my brain. I was bummed.

I've had a lot of things sucked out of my brain lately. I can't remember stuff like I used to. Am I on brain overload or just getting lazy? Should I start to take vitamins for memory or just learn to slow down and let things sink in? I'm often in my own world. Is that the problem? Maybe.

I especially wish I could remember things that my husband tells me. I'll ask him how was his day or something like that. He'll answer me. Then 5 minutes later, I'll ask him, "How was your day??? I know I just asked you that, but I don't remember what you said." Then he gets mad that I'm not listening. But I am, I swear!

On another note, I'll be making chocolate covered caramel pretzel rods this week for a bake sale. I didn't want to turn on the oven and make something like cookies (pah!) in this 100+ degree weather, so I'll make candy instead. If anyone wants the recipe I'd gladly pass it on. They are sooooooo good. Like Christmas good.

It's been a while

I haven't been the best blogger lately. So, as punishment, I'm going to give you a tour of my office. Only the interesting things...

I have a sock monkey on my desk that's holding up a sign that says, "You can't hug your children with nuclear arms." I'll be changing the messages weekly. Next week will be, "Hey! Hey! (I'm a monkey)" Thanks Mrs. Lynch!

I also have a nice sized bouncy ball. You have no idea how often I want to pick it up and throw it down the hallway just for shiggles. It's rainbow swirly colored.

I have a menu on my desk to hire a caterer for an all day meeting in August. I dread it. I'm not a frikkin event planner. I can give two craps about what people eat. But of course there's always going to be someone who doesn't like chicken, or is a vegetarian, or whatever. Pooey on them. Go eat a candy bar from the vending machine. Or go outside and eat grass. Moo.

Anyway, there's a little picture I drew and cut out on my wall of a island with a palm tree during a sunset. Granted the island is purple and the "sand stones" on it are made of whiteout. There's also a polka dot lizard on the tree, chillin out. It says, "I'm taking a mini vacation." and it hangs on the wall between my phone and my computer screen. I wish I could visit that purple island. I think the lizard and I would be good friends.

I have some random origami that I've done over the past 2 years. Open my drawer and you'll see flowers and boxes and cubes and stars and things that I've done out of post-its and paper scraps. I do work, believe me. It just may sound like I don't. I just fold paper to preserve my sanity. Or does my folding paper make me insane? The mind boggles.

I have a purple Miss Piggy mug I use every morning. It says, "Miss Piggy the Divine Swine". My husband has a Fozzie Bear mug at home. You thought I was going to say Kermit, didn't you?

I have real paintings on my walls. And gel frog window clings on my window. And my small collection of pencils in different shapes. I have one in the shape of a cowboy hat, mickey mouse head, umbrella, dollar sign, the aflac duck, a moose head, etc. Very exciting I must say. One day I'll show you my paper clip collection. It would make Bert from Sesame Street jealous. I just have to start to collect them.

And on my keyboard rollout shelf thingy I have a star wars mouse pad and a blue elephant wrist rest. And I have a picture or two of family and my guinea pig. yes. I'm lame enough to have a picture of my guinea pig.

So that's the highlights tour. I skipped the piles of folders and books and my in and out boxes. You may now go back to your normal lives feeling unfulfilled, just like I do looking at this stuff everyday.
