So I was sick at work the other day and had to go home early. I was trying to keep under wraps that my stomach was about to burst open and aliens pop out, but alas, when I went to turn in the paperwork of my absence, word got out. I went up to my current supervisor to let him know I was leaving and he did the crossing of the pointer fingers in a "x" and said for me to stay away. He said to go home and get better. Now, being sick, I just turned and left. But when I got home, I thought about it. I should've puked on him right then and there. What would have he done? Would the crossed fingers help him then? Nope. He would've had puke all over 'em. Ha.
Now yesterday people were coming up to me and asking how I was doing. Word travels fast. A few other people were out sick at the same time, and of course, we had to rehash our experiences. After the wonderful comparison of symptoms, I went back to my desk and had to chuckle for a second. I had to remain serious while people talked about their bowels, and it was time for release- of laughter, of course.
