How do you feel? I don't

I'm going to be taking on my boss's job for a long period while she goes on leave. People have come up to me and asked, "How do you feel?" "Aren't you excited?" What a great oppurtunity! Aren't you thrilled?"

Every time, I graciously smile and say a generic answer, "Sure! It will be exciting!" or something like that. But I don't really feel anything... yet. If I feel ANYTHING at all, it would be a feeling of anticipation and dread at the same time. Think of it like a deer before he gets hit by an oncoming vehicle. He knows the car is coming, but there's nothing he can do about it. Sounds rather grim, but it's realistic to me.

But don't interpret that as underlying fear or nervousness. Sure, that's a part of it, but not all. It's just getting ready for inevitability. I'll do my job the best I can (as I keep telling myself) and work through it. I just have to believe in myself and my abilities.

Let me say that again so I can get it in my head: I just have to believe in myself and my abilities!!!!

Right and also allow yourself to get excited to at least the first couple of days are fun. ^_^ You know, until all the bs starts! YOU CAN DO IT!
