Only in Wyoming

Things that happen in small town Wyoming and people don't bat an eyelash:

1. a windstorm that records gusts over 100 miles per hour.
2. Cops pulling people over for having things like plastic covers on their license plates. But yet, there are pieces of crap driving down the road with red duct tape on the breaklights and they don't care. There are no car inspections in Wyoming.
3. Hotels and other similar establishments are not required to install sprinklers if they are within a certain size (and other requirements). A hotel in another small town burned down and one person died.
4. When turning right, people drive on the wide shoulder of the street for a few feet before turning.
5. Gas prices are just as high here, sometimes higher- even though oil comes from Wyoming, Montana, and other surrounding states
6. If a mountain lion or bear come into town
7. Male chauvinism

Things that happen in small town Wyoming that will make people freak out:

1. A woman applies for a leadership position in a leading institution- an uproar! It's a man's world!
2. Anything that is non-conservative or modern (hey ma! Let's turn on that new doo hickey, that raad-ee-oh.)
3. lots of rain
4. Development- any development
5. When any kind of culture is introduced other than "western"
6. Young, ambitious people (or a young ambitious woman- eeks!)
7. A closed container law in vehicles
8. Anything that's not free

Ok-ok I may be a little dramatic with some of these, but there is some truth to this. I just don't think some people really get it.
